Training Courses in Water Quality Mmonitoring on Capacity Building under the Project Provision of Safe Drinking Water–Khushal Pakistan Programme

PCRWR is organizing training courses for the water supply agencies of Pakistan, representing WASA, PHED and Local Governments. Out of 26 courses to be completed in 2008, 14 courses have been organized for the water supply agencies of Punjab, NWFP, FATA, AJ&K and Northern areas, at Islamabad and Lahore. More than 500 managers, operators and technicians have qualified these courses.

A five-day workshop was organized The workshop focused on watershed modeling by using Soil and Water Assessment Tool (SWAT) Model, a comprehensive watershed model developed by USDA at PCRWR Headquarters Islamabad, Pakistan, from January 15-19, 2007 in collaboration with United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and Texas A&M University, USA under the PAK-US Science and Technology Protocol.
