Quality Analysis of Bottled/Mineral Waters

RESULTS 2001

18 brands were available in 1999 but disappeared from the market in 2001

While 13 new brands appeared in the market

Only 8 brands i.e. showed consistency in selling their products

A Sample  of following 21 bottled water brands was taken

Cool Evian Fresh
Himalaya Masafi Max Wellpur
Musaffa Nestle Niagra
Pearl Perrier Rainbow
Safa Sparklets Wellgreen and Zam Zam

 

 

 

 

 

Only 10 brands out of 21 (47.62%)  were found fit for drinking purpose because of microbiological quality. The remaining 11 brands (52.38%)  including one imported brand (claimed) are found unsafe for human consumption.
