Signing Ceremony Celebrates FCDO WRAP-III Catalytic Fund Call for PCRWR’s Climate-Resilient Water Solutions with implementing partners, FDO and SDF. on October 21, 2025

A formal signing ceremony was held to mark the acceptance of two innovative concepts developed by the Pakistan Council of Research in Water Resources (PCRWR), Ministry of Water Resources, for Catalytic Funding under the FCDO WRAP III Programme. These projects will be implemented by partner organizations to promote climate-resilient and sustainable water management solutions in Pakistan. The first project, titled “Scaling Up Wetlands Models with Groundwater Recharge and Rainwater Harvesting for Water Security and Urban Resilience in Islamabad,” will be implemented by the Farmer Development Organization (FDO) in collaboration with the Capital Development Authority (CDA), with PCRWR providing technical support. The second project, “Promoting Rainwater Harvesting and Aquifer Recharge for Climate Resilience through Community Action in Punjab,” will be implemented by the SUNGI Development Foundation. Both initiatives aim to address critical challenges of groundwater depletion, surface water quality deterioration, and urban flooding through nature-based interventions such as rainwater harvesting, aquifer recharge, and hybrid wetlands for wastewater treatment. The signing ceremony was attended by representatives from, PCRWR, WHH, FDO, and SUNGI, symbolizing a strong collaborative effort toward scaling up climate-resilient, community-driven water solutions for sustainable development in Pakistan.
