The Honorable Federal Minister for Water Resources, Mr. Mian Muhammad Mueen Wattoo, along with senior officials from the Ministry, visited the Pakistan Council of Research in Water Resources (PCRWR) on July 16, 2025. The meeting was attended by PCRWR professionals including Regional Directors.
Dr. Hifza Rasheed, Director General, PCRWR, formally welcomed the Honorable Minister and outlined the agenda of the meeting. Following introductions, she provided a concise overview of the Council’s core functions and its achievement operational presence across all four provinces of Pakistan.
The discussion was further enriched by inputs from the Regional Directors, about PCRWR Interventions in the provinces in field of water quality, water management and desertification control field. Dr. Hifza Rasheed also highlighted PCRWR’s key research and development programs, technological innovations, and capacity-building efforts in the water sector.
Following the meeting, the delegates toured the National Water Quality Laboratory (NWQL) and PCRWR’s demonstration sites of water conservation, drinking water and wastewater treatment technologies, Groundwater Recharge, Rainwater Harvesting System, Hydra Ram Pump.
